Eleven years ago when Dave Neuhart arrived for a look at Reynolds Lake Oconee there was no tennis professional on staff and the prestigious Lake Oconee community had only four clay courts and two hard courts on property. But with his nearly 20 years of experience in the tennis industry, Neuhart sensed that despite its established reputation as a world-class golf resort, Reynolds Lake Oconee also was devoted to its many resident tennis patrons.

When the Waterview Pub opened its doors for Big Break Invitational this past September, it quickly became the hub of post round entertainment at Great Waters. As each day of competition came to a close and the cameras shut down, the facility heated up with several patrons searching to take their own “big break” from competition. Considered as a soft opening, the newly renovated amenity welcomed tournament participants, spectators, club members and residents each day for some unofficial closing day ceremonies. Here, tournament participants had the opportunity to mold relationships with the members and residents of the community and share a beverage or two in the process.
