Reynolds Lake Oconee is pleased to welcome Whitney Poss to the team at Reynolds Lake Oconee. Originally from Augusta, Ga., Poss graduated from Evans High School and received her Associates Degree in Golf Course Management from Augusta Technical College. She reached her PGA Class A Certification in April of 2015.
After spotting the open position on a PGALinks Job Board, Whitney jumped on the opportunity to move 80 miles west of her hometown to Reynolds Lake Oconee. Since joining, she has had a number of opportunities to work with tournament groups and have involvement in the junior kids camps as well.
“I’ve found this to be an extremely positive work environment and a warm and welcoming membership,” said Poss of her first few weeks on the job. “I feel like I have been a part of the team forever.”
Having just recently received her PGA certification, Whitney is thrilled for the learning opportunity that Reynolds Lake Oconee provides with its six golf courses, nationally-ranked Reynolds Golf Academy and PGA-level technology at The Kingdom. Poss will work at The Landing golf course while the Plantation undergoes an extensive renovation that includes conversion to Penn A-1 Bermudagrass greens, refurbishment of the bunkers and expansion of the teeing grounds. “My ultimate goal is to be a head professional,” explains Poss. “I hope to gain the knowledge to qualify me for a higher position to further my career as a golf professional.”
Off the course, Poss loves spending time with her family, especially her 15 year old niece Savanna, her one year old nephew, Mason and her dog, Ginger. She loves music and playing guitar and enjoys watching NBA; with a strong affinity toward the San Antonio Spurs.
“We’re pleased to have Whitney on board,” says Mark Lammi, vice president of golf operations at Reynolds Lake Oconee. “This is a great opportunity for her to grow her career and she has already done a great job in establishing relationships with many of our members.”
