Golf Channel resident travel insider Matt Ginella paid a visit to Reynolds Lake Oconee recently to tape an episode of “Ginella’s Journeys,” a regularly-occurring feature on Golf Channel’s highly-rated “Morning Drive.”
Accompanied by a crew of three camera operators, a sound technician and producer, Ginella came well-armed to capture all that the Reynolds Lake Oconee lifestyle has to offer. The segment debuted on Golf Channel on May 20.
The host’s whirlwind tour of the property included golf on three of the community’s courses, including a round at Great Waters Great Waters accompanied by Mark Lammi, vice president of golf operations. Also on the itinerary was a visit to the TaylorMade KingdomTaylorMade Kingdom, a lesson with Charlie King of the Reynolds Golf AcademyReynolds Golf Academy, a host of activities on the lake and a sampling of all of the activities available at The Ritz-Carlton LodgeThe Ritz-Carlton Lodge.
Previous episodes of “Ginella’s Journeys” have included visits to Ireland, Puerto Vallarta, Tampa Bay, Los Cabos and many of the world’s other leading golf destinations.
Before arriving at Golf Channel, Ginella was senior travel editor for Golf Digest and Golf World from 2007-2012 and covered courses, resorts and the avid amateur golfer's annual buddies trips to over 60 destinations around the country. Prior to that he was director of photography for Golf Digest and Golf World (2001-07) and a golf photo editor at Sports Illustrated (1995-2001). Ginella has covered more than 30 major championships, including every Ryder Cup since 1997 in Valderrama.
