Reynolds Lake Oconee is pleased to welcome Andrew Huebner as its new Recreation Director. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, with a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management, Andrew has spent the past four years as Director of Resort Amenities at the Grand View Lodge, Nisswa Minnesota. He has also worked a total of eight years at The Breakers, Palm Beach, Florida, in various roles including Activity Events Manager, and Pool, Beach, and Bungalow Manager.
As Recreation Director for Reynolds Lake Oconee, Andrew will oversee the Lake Club fitness and recreation facilities, recreation programming, as well as the Lake Club, Landing, Great Waters, and Plantation pool facilities. Andrew brings with him a true passion for people and a desire to make a difference in the lives of those around him. Some of the challenges he looks forward to as Recreation Director at Reynolds Lake Oconee are creating new programs and events and developing positive relationships with club members and fellow employees.
“I’m really excited about the diversity of programming,” says Huebner. “There are so many classes that can be introduced given the range of age groups at Reynolds Lake Oconee. I also love all the recreational opportunities that Lake Oconee provides.”
Outside of work, Andrew has been very active in community programs. He has been a Volunteer Church Youth Leader for 3½ years and recently spent a week at an orphanage in Haiti doing volunteer work. An outdoors enthusiast, he enjoys backpacking, mountain biking, surfing, stand up paddle-boarding, skiing, wakeboarding, boating, and hiking (having summited Mount Kilimanjaro in 2006).
