Reynolds Lake Oconee will unveil its new model home series on Sunday, March 29. Inspiring the next generation of Reynolds Lake Oconee Dream Homes, the Mill Creek Model Home Center marks the first new showcase models in more than five years at the Lake Oconee lifestyle development.
“We want these homes to establish a completely fresh perspective that reflects contemporary living and the casually elegant lifestyle that Reynolds Lake Oconee members enjoy every day,” said Glenn Winslette, vice president of development. “Reynolds Lake Oconee Signature Home Collection achieves this by combining a magnificent golf-front setting with inspired architectural elements and engaging some of the top building and interior design experts in the field.”
The Mill Creek Model Home Center will be available for tours beginning on Sunday, March 29. Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday 12 noon to 5:00 pm.
With a strong professional commitment to excellent construction quality and customer service, two builders within the Reynolds Lake Oconee Signature Home Program constructed the models atop the wooded hillside overlooking the tees and split fairway of Creek Club’s fifth hole:
Camden Homes: the value-centric homebuilder was named Builder of the Year by Lake Oconee Area Builders Association.
Jones & Jones Premier Builders: the mid-sized firm claimed back-to-back Lake Oconee Living Builder of the Year awards
Featuring 3,700 square feet of living space, the first model is a four-bedroom, four-and-a-half bath home built by Camden. Classic dormers, traditional lap siding and tasteful stone accents welcome visitors, and a natural wood pergola spans the twin garage doors. Inside, one will find elevated ceilings, eight-foot interior doors and clerestory windows that flood the main living space with warm, natural light. Hardwood floors, premium tile, granite and cabinet upgrades throughout exude quality in design and craftsmanship.
Weinberger’s Furniture and Mattress Showcase provided the furnishings, accessories and the services of design consultant Michael Berry, who “aspired to make the home elegant yet casual with a feeling that would appeal to both young couples and empty nesters.”
The second, somewhat larger model home next door, offers an equally attractive front elevation, but with more pronounced rooflines, shake siding accents and more traditional columns flanking the double front doors. At the heart of this four-bedroom, four-and-a-half bath home built by Jones & Jones Premier Builders is the aptly named “great room,” which has soaring ceilings accentuated by vast windows that finely frame the splendid golf course views. Homeowners will enjoy outdoor living year-round with an expansive open-air space complete with a rustic stone-clad fireplace.
Alicia Mooney, who provided the vision for the home’s interior, sought a delicate balance in her selections given such fantastic vistas: “I made sure all window coverings were light and did not block the sight lines. I also put a lot of thought into the outdoor living spaces, making them comfortable and inviting, but without distracting views.”
Andy Anderson, director of design at Hug & Associates and contributor to both Mill Creek model homes, summed up the project vision: “Homes are more than just shelter. We strive to create designs that ultimately inspire people to dream about how they aspire to live.”
Past show homes at Reynolds Lake Oconee have included the first ever Golf Magazine Dream House, two Southern Living Idea Houses, a Golf Digest Signature House and a Southern Accents Showhouse.
