Reynolds Lake Oconee is pleased to announce the recipients of its Fourth Quarter Employee Awards for 2019. James McDuffie, Director of Facilities Maintenance, has been named Leader of the Quarter, while George Reynolds, Great Waters Turf Equipment Technician, and Chris Jarrette, Tavern Bartender, have been named Employees of the Quarter.
Before Reynolds, James McDuffie worked as the Assistant Director of Facilities and Plant Operations at Oconee Regional Medical Center in Milledgeville, Georgia, where he directly managed the engineering, security, and communications departments. A Certified Healthcare Facility Manager since 2010, James uses his skills in all things spick-and-span to inspire his team to excellence.
“I work with a great group of people in Facilities Maintenance and the Central Warehouse,” says James. “Together, we create a pristine condition across amenities and property.”
When not making Reynolds beautiful, James can be found enjoying the lake and loving life with his wife, Sherry, daughter, Jordan, and son, Alan-Michael. As strong supporters of the Animal Rescue Foundation in Milledgeville, Georgia, the McDuffie family also includes dogs Marilyn, Presley, and newly adopted Katie.
Like James McDuffie, George Reynolds has an impressive history of keeping facilities in tiptop shape. As a facilities maintenance worker at the United States Military Academy for 16 years, George worked with Army staff and coaches to maintain all aspects of outdoor turf fields used by collegiate sports. At Reynolds, he has used his extensive knowledge and skills to make a difference in his field.
“Reynolds has a reputation for quality of services, and I am proud to be a contributor in maintaining that reputation,” says George. “The great leadership here provides everything needed to excel in your position.”
In his free time, George enjoys antiquing with his wife, Janet, tinkering with wood crafting, reading, and collecting antique firearms. He is also the proud father of son, George Jr., who resides in New York.
Prior to joining the Reynolds family in 2011, Chris Jarrette worked as a line cook and brick mason at Applebee’s. As a Bartender at The National Tavern, Jarrette loves that he is able to be himself around Members and guests and looks forward to making them smile or laugh.
“The job itself is so rewarding and amazing,” says Jarrette. “The Members, guests, and my coworkers make it feel like so much more than just a job. It’s really a family.”
When not making delicious drinks, Jarrette enjoys bowling, playing basketball, and working out. He values spending time with his family and friends, including his nephew who he attributes as one of the main reasons that he works hard to better himself.
