Reynolds Lake Oconee is proud to announce its Fourth Quarter Employee Awards for 2014. Bill Greenwald, chef de cuisine at Plantation Grille, has been named Leader of the Quarter, and both Mary Dunn, accounts receivable clerk, and Mary Beth Dendy, guest services representative, have been named Employees of the Quarter.
Bill Greenwald began working at Reynolds Lake Oconee as a part-time line cook in December 2011, and has since moved through the ranks holding positions as lead line cook, chef tournant, and sous chef. Prior to joining Reynolds Lake Oconee, he worked in many different restaurants, both large and small and even owned his own steam cleaning business. Greenwald also helped build lobster traps for his family business in the Florida Keys.
“I have worked under some great chefs here at Reynolds that have all helped me achieve personal goals in a very short period of time,” says Greenwald. “I love working in a world-class club and resort that is not located in a major city. Getting away from all the traffic while still being able to work with so many people from all walks of life is a great way to live and work for me.”
Outside of work, Greenwald loves spending his free time outdoors, mostly fishing, golfing and exercising his dog, Rudy, but he hopes to take up a new hobby when the weather gets warmer. “My wife, Grace, gave me a kayak for Christmas, so I look forward to mastering this small water craft.” He is also a member of the Bass Anglers Association and the National Rifle Association. Greenwald enjoys donating his culinary skills and giving back to his community, having donated and carved cooked turkeys for assisted living homes while in culinary school, and also helping with many Children Miracle golf events.
Previously owning and operating a restaurant with her husband, Gene, in Sparta, Ga., Mary Dunn joined the accounting team in February 2001 where she handles all member accounts. “The kindness I receive from all the members on a daily basis makes my job enjoyable,” says Dunn. “The caring, warm spirits and dedication of my fellow employees bring joy and purpose to my day. I have gained many friendships over the years, both with members and people around me.”
Dunn attends the Sparta Baptist Church. She and her husband enjoy fishing and taking walks with their two dogs. They spend most of their spare time with their three children, Donna, Mike and Carol, and four grandchildren, Adam, Amanda, Caroline and Grace.
Mary Beth Dendy joined Reynolds Lake Oconee as the guest services representative in March 2012. Dendy worked as the member services supervisor at Life Time Fitness in Johns Creek, Ga. prior to joining the company. “I love interacting with and assisting members, guests and employees on a regular basis, and getting the opportunity to make someone’s day a little bit brighter,” says Dendy. “Reynolds brings a sense of family amongst everyone in the company, always treating all guests, visitors, members and employees with respect and integrity.”
When Dendy is not assisting others, she enjoys working out, camping, kayaking and trivia. She is also an avid “redditor,” or blogger on the entertainment, social networking and news website, Reddit. Dendy’s favorite pastime is spending quality time with her boyfriend, Micheal, his two children, Parker and Landon, her two pets, Lilly and Kitty Purry, and family and friends.
