This weekend I had the joy of exploring Reynolds Lake Oconee and everything it has to offer. Located in Greensboro Georgia, which is about 80 miles from the city of Atlanta, this destination is really worth the drive. The resort is extremely large spanning over 22 miles of the Lake Oconee area and includes 6 golf courses. During my visit I stayed in a cozy two-bedroom condo. It had a very home-like feel and it was quite luxurious. With its oversized tubs, gorgeous appliances and delightful views of the lake you will want to come back every weekend.
When you visit you must dine at The National Tavern. It was truly the highlight of my trip. When you walk in you immediately notice the inviting fireplace, chic, bright, modern decor, open kitchen, and impressive bar. The staff was extremely friendly and everyone working at The National Tavern seemed to genuinely love their job. I'm a big fan of great service and I am happy to say that the service was superb. The menu offered a wide variety of American cuisine with plenty of options for the pickiest eater.
I had the chance to meet Sous Chef, Chef Bill. He has been at Reynolds for four years. I also had the pleasure of meeting Freddy the liquid bartender. He has created cocktails for some of the best including Donald Trump. The drinks were extremely impressive handcrafted with premium liquor and the freshest ingredients. When you dine, you must try the Blueberry a la Freddy. He muddles 25 blueberries, adds two slices of lemon and vodka. It was definitely my favorite of the evening.
