Qualifying for the popular Drive, Chip and Putt Championship will be held at The Landing at Reynolds Lake OconeeThe Landing at Reynolds Lake Oconee on June 11, with the ultimate goal of the boys and girls being to advance to the finals, held at Augusta National Golf Club on the Sunday before the 2016 Masters.
Competition is for players ages 7-15. It the first of three stages each player must navigate to reach the 2016 finals in Augusta. The Landing is one of 255 local sites throughout all 50 states.
“You can see the kids’ faces how much fun it is and what a great platform this event is for golf,” said Mark Lammi, Vice President of Golf Operations for Reynolds Lake Oconee. “The Drive, Chip and Putt Championship already is a success and has the potential to have a huge impact on the number of boys and girls it attracts to golf. As a golf community, we appreciate what that means to the future of the game.”
In only its third year, the Drive, Chip and Putt Championship provides playing opportunities throughout all 50 states during the months of May, June, July and August. Top performers at the local level will advance through sub-regional and regional qualifiers in July/August and September, respectively. The top 80 performers – 40 boys and 40 girls – will earn an invitation to the National Finals at Augusta National on Sunday, April 3, 2016.
The top three boys and top three girls from each age division at The Landing move on to the sub-regional event in August in Savannah; the top two in each division advance from Savannah to regional competition in September at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. Only the winners from the 10 regionals qualify for the National Finals.

Eligibility: Boys and girls each compete in their own separate divisions in four age categories: 7-9, 10-11, 12-13, and 14-15. Participants must be at least 7 years of age on Sunday, April 5, 2015, and may not be older than 15 years of age on Sunday, April 5, 2015. Six-year-olds may participate in local, sub-regional and regional qualifying, provided they turn 7 years old prior to April 5, 2015, but 15-year-olds who turn 16 prior to April 5, 2015 are not eligible.
